“Game Modifications: Metaphor for Better Perception of Ruling Elite”

​Video Game Modifications. We love them. We hate them. We mostly love them when we have them. We despise those who abuse them. Usually we are tempted by cheap modifications when we begin. We suck. We don't have the patience to play. We want a cheat. But as a skilled player, after we've poured countless hours into a game, once we've discovered the true “soul” of a game. Even perhaps the “soul” of ourselves within the game. (Provided we smoke a joint and had a couple beers). But still we spoke with the game. And it spoke to us. And it said, “Self, you are alright everybody is doing this just stop thinking and go along with everybody else.”

I feel though, that the sentiment is very similar to the Precariat vs. the Bourgeoisie of America's Neoliberal Capitalist Society. 

These terms are all available on Wikipedia, that is where I learned of them myself. And like all of you I didn't actually read the full page I just skimmed what was interesting. Which gets us into a whole topic of selective biases that I don't want to lose myself on a tangent. So, Marxist criticism of Capitalism.

The Proletariat vs. The Bourgeoisie. Karl Marx (look him up) described the proletariat as the industrial working class and the bourgeoisie as the property owners. The proletariat's motto was “We work for all.”  And the bourgeoisie's motto was, “We eat for all.” The bourgeoisie were dicks. Or douches which actually describes them better I think. They basically said, we've got the game modifications, so suck a big fat piece of injustice.  So they do, and they just wreck. Because they have like random zoom features and location positions. Pretty cheap. 

But you can't tell me that you've never played with mods and loved every minute of it. It was like all of sudden you were at the top of the pack. What seemed so hard before was cake. And when you were at the top you realized that all along, all those amazing players you had looked up to the whole time were using mods the whole time. And they weren't even really that good, they just had this assistance the whole time.

That's how I feel about the fucking Bourgeoisie. They didn't have to work for their position. They were just sort of dealt a good hand. They started out with game modifications. And they work to keep the rest of us in the total dark.
